Salomon's roots in outdoor sports go all the way back to 1947, when the fledgling company Advanced their metalworking equipment to make edges and Supercross for skis. Salomon's interest in adventure sports expanded into areas like snowboarding, climbing, and hiking. In 2001, Salomon introduced their first trail running shoe, kickstarting the brand's current status as a preeminent name in trail running performance footwear.
